A challenging fisherman’s cottage set in the heart of Newlyn!
An incredibly small space paired with a very steep sloping ceiling. The client really wanted to have a shower space rather than a bath so we put our thinking caps on and came up with a design that not only functions very well but is also very aesthetically pleasing. Steve (SJK Renovations) and I discussed what we thought would work best and the client was very excited by the ideas.
We decided to box in the concealed cistern and pipework so that we could move the toilet across a little and make space for repositioning the basin on the right-hand wall. The boxing also creates a practical shelf for decorative bits and bobs.
As the lower end of the shower area would have been fairly useless within the shower, we thought it was best to utilise the space for shelving so that towels and linens could be stored away neatly. The whole cottage lacks storage space so we made sure we made use of what otherwise would have been a dead corner.
The decorative tiles bring the space to life whilst the colour also offers a subtle nod to the coast. The neutral colour of the paint, vanity unit and other wall tiles in the shower create a feeling of calm and serenity.
Check out the before photos to get a feeling of the work involved in this project. Our clients were over the moon with the final room and we were too.
A cute and stylish shower room which ticks all the boxes. Installed by SJK Renovations.
